Is it ok to trim leaves?

haxuan(Vietnam)November 20, 2010

My cymbidium seems to have far too many leaves (and they are very long, too). Should I trim some of the bottom leaves?

Currently it is having three blooming spikes. I'm afraid that trimming leaves might affect the plant.

Thanks for your advise.

I never trim off healthy leaves. Leaves are a source of nutrients and support for the plant. If the old leaves are yellowish or turning brown, then you can trim them.

Many thanks, orchid. Will leave them alone, then.
