Rain Forecast for Drought-Stricken Areas!
I hope I'm not jinxing this, but the forecast for rain beginning Wednesday and Thursday, which will morph into an even larger storm Friday and Saturday, is very encouraging. The high-pressure system that's been plaguing us for months is expected to give way to a large low-pressure area with substantial precipitation expected, even into neighboring states, with snow expected in the Sierras and Colorado mountains. I'm at the far southern end of these rainstorms but hope that we'll also have a good amount of rain. If this comes to pass we can still look forward to a very good spring rose show and at least some lessening of the drought, although we would need much more rain than this to end the drought. Still, we're immensely lucky if this comes to pass and hopefully this will somewhat lessen the drought restrictions for many of us.
I'm going to buy a large bag of Dr. Earth fertilizer and spread it everywhere before the rain so that it will be carried deep into the soil. Let's keep our fingers crossed!
