Keeping weeds out of pation expansion seams

instar8(Z 5 N.IN)April 17, 2009

I would've searched for this, but had no idea what terms to use!

I'm hoping there is a product that one can put in the expansion seams of poured concrete patios, driveways, etc, to keep weeds from growing there? Like I said, i'd search, but would appreciate any input into the best such product from those in the know!

Thanks in advance for your help!

I used a product called "Liquid Edger". I got mine at Walmart, but they tended to be sold out if you waited too late. I bet you could find some at the big box stores.
It came in a gallon jug and had a separate lid that allowed pouring a narrow stream. Just one application in early Spring and no more weeds in those cracks for the rest of the year. It also worked well on a brick path that was laid with sand.

glycphosate, the active ingredient in Round Up, will do the trick. Cheveron make a product with this ingredient which is cheaper than RU.
