The link on my last post did not work. Sorry all. Here is a link that should work: Climbing Pinky, at three years old.
Here is a link that might be useful: Climbing Pinky
Thanks for the working photo :-) I was curious to see it since I have one planted next to my garden shed and just installed a trellis for it. I look forward to the next 2 years (it's a little over 1 now). Mine has room to roam over the top and side of said shed.
I was going to plant Peggy Martin on the other side but now I think Cl. Pinky may need both sides.
Your specimen is incredibly beautiful, and I want to cry because mine is barely blooming even though it's fairly large and I've had it for a few years. I don't think it has enough sun and I have nowhere else to put it. I may just need to grit my teeth, take it out and put in a rose that can tolerate the shade more. Does yours get sun all day long?
what an inspiration. I have a Climbing Pinkie which is less than year old, just can't wait for it to grow over the next couple of years.
Thanks again for sharing.
What a gorgeous rose-----do you prune it back every year to keep the "bush" look ?
WOW! That's a beauty. Thanks for the photo.
Thanks, everyone. Since it is only three years old, I haven't pruned it yet other than to cut back the canes that spiral out of control onto my porch. Its bushy appearance is a bit deceptive; it has long canes that I tie to the porch rails and then let fall forward. So it is more of a cascade than a bush. It does get sun almost all day long, although the afternoon sun is indirect. I give it alfalfa when I think of it, but it is almost embarrassing how little care it gets.
