PVC, ideas you can try.

dcarch7April 5, 2008

Many of you use PVC to construct various structures.

The problem is finding and buying the connectors. They don't come in what you need and they are expensive.

You can give these a try if you have a drill press.

If you have an angle drill press, you can make connectors of any angle.

Good thinking. You can also use PVC fittings with 1/2 inch EMT. Just use 3/4 vinyl tubing, the clear kind to slip over the EMT and you get a tight fit that can be secured with a sheet metal screw.

Just trim it down close, say 1/8 inch, spit on it and slide it in. Use the screw and trim the excess off with a razor knife.

Lots of good ideas in this thread (nice drawings dcarch!) That website is full of interesting things too. Thanks to all for posting here, these are the kind of simple but practical tips that get my creative juices flowing. Always fun to see what can be done with inexpensive materials and a little good thinking. :-)
