I am really hoping to get confirmation that this is, indeed, a young seed pod?? (trying not to get too excited over here...)
Maybe, if it is it will grow to about 6-8 inches.
Congratulation, mom!!! ;-)

Jealous again, in 4 years I've only got pods twice 4 years ago and last year but in the second one the seeds didn't develop well so none work and in my first one only 6 survived because I didn't know how to care for the seedlings :(
How do you know it is a seed pod?
I got lucky!
Laura, how much growth can I expect and after about how much time do they mature? Thank you so much, once again, for all the advice!
I couldn't see those " horns" coming out , now I see the pod too
Lol... Those horns grow fast too!!!
Roberto.. Glad you saw them!! They are interesting little buggers!!!
They grow fast and with you in AZ they will get to ( or can) between 8-10 inches long.. Depends , but they will fatten up and once they get to the point they stop growing. I would put a knee hi stocking on it and tie it up so when it does open, the seeds won't fly away. ( once it gets bigger) It takes one day for it to open and the seeds are gone.. Believe me.. It happened to me!!!
Good luck and have fun watching it grow. Everyday, you will see a difference!!
I put in a foto of a seed pod and of seeds.
