crown turning yellowish and leaves curling down

REESERUH(8)December 29, 2012

This is my favorite AV. Bought it from the local store and it never grew and would never bloom, about 2yrs. I moved it to a south window and it went crazy. It has bloomed for 1 1/2yr straight.

In the last 3-4 months I have noticed the leaves have started curling under and now the crown is a yellow green color and curled under.

I am thinking I need to repot with fresh soil, but did not want to disturb it while blooming so beautiful.

I have checked for mites and see no signs. Any ideas of what the problem could be

A bit chilly that close to the window and it might need a bit of water after moving it a little more away from window just to warm up the roots

You need to repot it anyway sometime later. Make sure that the soil is right - if you buy AV soil in a store - cut it with perlite 3:1. Do you use fertilizer?

Nice plant!

you can't see mites by naked eye, you need a magnifying glass. but in the case of tight crown you won't be able to look at underside of leaves, which is where mites are mostly in the beginning.
i might be wrong, but that's exactly what my my mite-infested plants looked like in early stages.

Could be. If this condition affects many plants and it gets worth - get Forbid 4F from ebay - and spray them.
