Taking cuttings from Azaleas

When is the best time to take cuttings from established azaleas and how is it done? I'm in zone 7(Maryland)

Check the following:

Azalea Society of America azalea propagation article
Basically it says anytime between June and when they harden off in the fall.

Alabama Cooperative Extension azalea propagation article
Basically it says in June or July.

Don Hyatt dormant azalea propagation article
It tells how to root dormant cuttings taken now.

Don Hyatt azalea propagation article
It tells how to root azalea cuttings that are beginning to harden off.
