Amorphophallus paeonifolius-Suran?

greenlarry(UK 8/9)May 13, 2007

I have been reading a few posts on, an Austrian site on tree ferns etc, and one guy showed a pic of a brown tuber he got from a market. From what i can gather it is called a Suran. Is that a widely available vegetable on markets etc, as it seems it is used in cooking!

Here is a link that might be useful: Pics of 'Suran' Arum

Yes, Indian food markets carry these....most often as frozen food items, but sometimes they can be had as a tuber that can be planted and grown. In the UK I would think the Indian food markets would have them. Best of luck :o) Dan
