propagating spider azalea

Hi...I have a lot of azaleas but dont know really all that much about them. Can anyone give me tips on propagating azaleas, Specifically a spider azalea. thanks bob

Spider??? I do not know the name.
Do you mean swamp azalea or deciduous?
Stem cutting at 5 to 6 inches, root cutting & layering work well also.
You should do a search on GW to find more threads on this.

When first introduced to western gardens in 1980, it was known as Rhododendron macrosepalum 'Linearifolium.' That is now ammended to R. stenopetalum 'Linearifolium.'
