Hi...I have a lot of azaleas but dont know really all that much about them. Can anyone give me tips on propagating azaleas, Specifically a spider azalea. thanks bob
Spider??? I do not know the name.
Do you mean swamp azalea or deciduous?
Stem cutting at 5 to 6 inches, root cutting & layering work well also.
You should do a search on GW to find more threads on this.
Thanks...I think I will try both stem and layer it http://www.paghat.com/spiderazalea.htmlhttp://www.paghat.com/spiderazalea.html
From the link bobby provided:
When first introduced to western gardens in 1980, it was known as Rhododendron macrosepalum 'Linearifolium.' That is now ammended to R. stenopetalum 'Linearifolium.'
