Azalea Buds

gardenapprenticeApril 7, 2013

I'm in zone 7. My azaleas still have their flower buds and have a bit of green in them. I was wondering if the flower buds would at least show a touch of pink if they were flower buds.... And if anyone had any blooms going yet. I know it's because of the cold snap but did this affect anyone else's?

Is this how an azalea flowering bud should look like?

Flower buds and leaf buds look alike until they begin to swell. This year, plants are blooming much later than normal in the East.
