Got my new Philodendron 'joepii' today!

MonsteraMan(5)August 6, 2012

I was so excited to get my new philodendron 'joepii' today. She is a beauty and extremely rare. Only two were ever found in the wild! I feel fortunate to add her to my collection and wasn't sure if I'd ever even find someone selling one.

That looks great. I googled to find out more. One of the links that turned up was for an Ebay listing. Looks like more might be becoming available. I'll certainly get one if they turn up here.

It's clearly been eaten by bugs. Please send to me in Seattle ASAP and I will rescue it.

I don't think it's been eaten by bugs, nice try though! :) Joep Moonen thought so when he first found it, until it put on more leaves just like the "eaten" ones. It is unique and unusual. There is a listing on eBay for one right now. It is from a seller that I have purchased a couple plants from.

Any updates on how your joepii is doing? I am wondering if you find that it is finicky. Such a unique plant with a unique story behind it!

My P. joepii isn't finicky, but it is very slow-growing. I live in central Florida where humidity is fairly high most of the time,it's possible that those in areas of low humidity might find it a bit harder to grow.
