Need help w/Potted Roddies

ccbear(4a BC)August 3, 2005

Need to overwinter two roddies that are in 1 gal. pots. Can anyone please tell me how to do this? They don't have a 'in ground' home yet available. Have a veranda but it is open to weather on bother ends and front...would they be ok there? or in a un heated shed..or? Never tried to keep any in pots before and have no idea if they would survive the winter here. Thanks for any help.

CC ;
A chicken wire basket stuffed with Oak,Hickory,Pine needles/leaves, or make a enclosure with Christmas tree branches . Unheated shed will do as well with no problems as long as there is some deffused light .

good luck.

tadeusz5 - thank you so very much for your advice and taking the time to answer.
Pine tree branches it is for them even a red bow.
Would they be ok up against the house, on the veranda that faces west - even if temps dipped to -30 F?

Thanks for good luck wishes as well. :-)
They are growing amazingly well in those pots. Have loads of new growth and now starting to form buds for next year.

Take care
