Black spots on leaves

I have mature Native azaleas brought back from Georgia. I planted in July and have black spots on top of leaves and now the leaves are falling off..What is this stuff?? Thanks..

Sounds like a fungal problem to me. Check out the Azalea Diagnosis Page at
and then check the Azalea Problem Page for a suggested list of things that you can do (apply fungicides, etc):

Or is it sunburn and/or water stress?
