Does Munstead Wood bloom well throughout the summer.
I am thinking of getting one this year, but in such a small garden, summer long blooms are a must.
Mine are babies, planted only this year but they good flushes in late June and August, and are building up buds again.
That's a really nice one! I looked it up on Help Me Find. If you have a small garden, think a bit about this one. HMF says it will grow to be 35" tall, but in a warm climate, it will get larger.
Brittie, I'm in Houston, too - where did you get yours? Are they on their own roots?
Here is a link that might be useful: Munstead Wood
Mine's in its third year and is grafted. The first two years were slow and it basically did pretty much nothing. This year, it leapt out of the ground and is about 5' tall and 3' wide. The bush is just covered in fragrant blossoms all summer long and don't bleach out in the sun like some purples are prone to do. Just be prepared to give MM lots of real estate.
I got mine bareroot from Angel Gardens this spring, but geez now that you ask, I don't recall if they're grafted or not! I THINK they are, but I'll have to look to make sure.
Mine cycles in and out of bloom. It is not continuous, but it does cycle pretty steadily and it does have summer bloom. I really like this rose.
Mine is about 5x3 and blooms all summer in frequent cycles. Like Rosefolly said, it is not continuous, but I am very happy with the repeat flowering and prolific blooms.
