Pictures of your raised beds?

cheri_in_maine(z5ME)March 28, 2003

I run an assisted living for 16 wonderful people. Each year I plant a vegetable garden and flower garden. Most of the residents are unable to help in the garden. I am extremely worried that I will not be able to provide as extensive gardens as I have in the past due to my every increasing busy schedule. Because we are a small home, I am the only one who does the planting and weeding, etc. I believe a raised bed would be a wonderful way to get the residents involved. Does anyone have pictures of there raised bed(s) so I will have an idea for placement as well as accessability? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

has raised beds for all sorts of situations.
we discussed gardening at a nursing home in another thread, as well, and talked a lot about container gardening - and fact that almost anything will grow in containers = fruit, veggies, herbs, annuals, perennials.

Have you thought about a water garden? I love mine. No weeding; no need to worry about over watering and lots of great therapy with happy fish to kiss your fingers.

This is the pond before the plants started growing this year:

It's very easy to maintain with an attached bench on one side and the deck with chairs on the other. Good luck finding a raised bed that's right for you.
