Accessible Garden Table on Wheels

CapeHeart(z6ccMA)May 29, 2003

Hello Friends -

I know I could probably have one built but I don' t have time. I have an 81 year old Mom that does like to garden but she has arthritis and if gardening involves too much she will not take care of it. We are trying to keep her active both mind and body.

On her patio I thought a 5 x 7 ft table that was around hmmm a foot deep and about 30 inches tall on wheels would be perfect for her to grow just a few some veggies. since its low she could sit at it and during BBQs it could be rolled to another spot. To me is almost like the sand box concept for kids. Any ideas?

Or have you seen some thing like this I could buy?

You could just get some used stock tanks from somebody with horses (or whatever). Once they pop a hole, it's just garbage to them. Poke some more holes in the bottom, fill them with soil and you've got a great little planter at sitting height.
