using tea bags around pots

hello. it is my first post here.

Can I open old tea bags and spread them around plants as fertilizer? will it benefit them? i do container gardening.

I have done so with an indoor Meyer lemon (Improved Meyer) with no ill effects. However, the tea bags in question were, IIRC, predominantly peppermint leaves rather than "real tea."

Libra9, if you don't get more replies here, you might try forums like House Plants, Container Gardening, Vegetable Gardening, or whichever GW forums relate to the particular plants you're growing.
