Wild elephant garlic (non-segmented)

I'm looking for a form of garlic that grow in Ala/Ga. border area..I was given some originaly by a lady who live on columbus/phienox border.It grew wild in her flower garden..

I grew it for 8 years but then moved and lost my stock..It is unique in it's a solid clove(non-segmented)..large 2-3 inches in diamenter..leaves are flat/wide..it puts on a purple flower lie an allium..It reproduces by forming clumbs of smallers bulbs of parent blub..Does anyone know what I'm talking about or know how I can obtain some?? any help will be greatly accepted,, Thaks Joey

I may be of some help. The elephant garlic I have has the flat wide leaves, and purple bloom. When I divided mine the cloves were un-segmented, with small bulblets underneath the parent clove. After division, some of the cloves did segment, although most did not. If this sounds like what you are looking for let me know.

Replant the solid buld, and next year it will segment. The small bublets are corms. They too will form bulbs and probably not segment until the second year.
