ID plant

sewlutions(Tennessee)February 10, 2006

I was in Birmingham last weekend as my MIL was in a trial study at Princeton Hospital. We went to OCharlies on Northshore (I think). Right in front of the restaurant was a beautiful large shrub--planted next to a Magnolia. It was an evergreen, lighter green that the magnolia and leaves were @ 3" long, 1.5" wide and little barbs on the edges. It had tons of red berries at the end of each branch. I really want to have one of those in my yard. Can anyone help me? Have you seen this shrub at OCharlies? Thanks!

Rita, I haven't seen the plant but for anyone who is confused, you were probably at O'Charlie's at LAKESHORE. That may help get you an answer.

You are correct--it was Lakeshore. We have a Northshore here in Knoxville. Does anyone know what this shrub is? Thanks!

By the description, I'd say it was a type of holly.
