This penstemon (Esprit) is one of my favorites right now.
That's beautiful. Where did you get it?
Thanks, Catbird - I wintersowed the seeds a couple of years ago; I got the seeds from Thompson & Morgan. I will save some for you if you like - penstemons of all varieties seem to grow really well here.
That's the cutest darned thing!
Please do save me some seed. I'd love to have some. I'll find something good to swap for it.
If you look close you can see the smile. Beautiful!
These grow so easily here, and I should have plenty of seeds - I am going to try to make the fall swap this year, but if I don't, I can mail them.
Gorgeous! I grow some of the Penstemons native to the Southeast - Tenuis, digitalis, and calycosus. Tenuis in particular grows like crazy here, spreads like dandelions!
I used to live in Los Alamos, NM. There the red Penstemons were like blackeyed susans here - very common roadside flowers! I never gopt used to seeing them!
I have the husker red, which I love. Should be able to bring a few plants this fall.
