David Austin Tree Roses?

redsox_gwNovember 18, 2008

Yesterday we had a few flurries snow on by and I received my new DA and Heirloom catalogs. What a bounty!

David Austin has tree roses now? Did I miss something in the past or is this a new product this year?

Can someone in Zone 6 grow a tree rose or am I kidding myself?

In my area, people have to pot up standards and overwinter them in a garage (iffy) or greenhouse. I've heard of a few folks who have tried wrapping in burlap with mixed success. I won't even try them.

I won't even try them from Diane means I would be throwing $50 out the window. Maybe some day I will move to Zone 8.

I have a Mary Rose tree rose from DA. It is going on its 3rd year now. It is potted and by mid-November we (or I should say my dh) drag it into the unheated cellar. Attached garage has also been used to overwinter.
