need name of an alpine

sunnyhours(5 (outside Pgh))May 25, 2005

I recently saw a very flat, bright green creeping plant and I remember the name being something like "stefaginella." Does that ring a bell with anyone?

Maybe Selaginella (genus name). Low and mossy looking to some people, but not a moss. Can be dark or light green, bluish or yellowish, depending on the species/type.
