Is there such a plant as a walking garlic with the same characteristics as a walking onion?
scifiblues, Good question. I asked a similar question over at Rocky Mountain Gardening before I knew what a allium was. If you go to Rocky Mountain Gardening you will see 3 threads about garlic on the first page that you really should read. Also do a search of this forum for Martin's Heirloom garlic and you will find some interesting reading. I think if you start with a rocambole garlic that grows well in your area, and that has large bulbils, it might be similar to walking onions. I gave up on the idea of elephant garlic once I tasted it.
Thanks! I'll check out the sources you recommended.
