Help ID'ing this plant(photos)

Hi guys, I have a school project where I need to ID a plant and give a talk about it. I was given a branch from a plant, and told that is is a woody shrub used in South Asian cuisine. I was thinking weeping cherry or black tupelo. Any ideas? Thanks!

It looks to me like a curry leaf. Scientific name Murraya koenigii. It's native to India and Sri Lanka...
