I'm posting this edible veggie in the hope that someone can ID it for me. It seem like a purple basil but the color much darker , please see the pic below:

I have one that was sold to me as as Purple Perilla or Shosi. You should check locally to be sure before eating. I use fresh small leaves raw in salad and other larger leaves made into a paste for sauce on asian food. Lovely flavor.
Sorry I meant Shiso. I bought seeds for the same plant later.
