Help! Is this Stagonospora curtissi?

bunnynomnom(zone 10a)February 14, 2013

I'm still very new to growing hippies. This morning while potting, I was horrified to discover a bunch of my bulbs got these red spots. Is this the infamous Stagonospora curtissi? Sorry, my pictures aren't the clearest. I can take some more pictures if these are not diagnostic enough.

There's some small seedling bulbs that have red scabs actually, not sure if it's the same thing.

Thanks for your help!

Hi My,
Your bulbs look fine to me..I think they may just be dried spots or just bruised. You can dust a little captan or cinnamon on just to make sure but I wouldn't worry about what I see in your pictures. Just keep the bulb itself dry and yours look like they are planted well.

I dealt with this several years ago and here are a few pictures, yours don't look like this. They actually form a canker sore...Donna
