Does anyone know where in the valley can I get a Kwanzan Cherry Tree for my yard? Anyone have one in their yard?

Talk to your Lowe's garden manager. It will be interesting to determine if it will flower here.

Do they actually make cherries?

No they are just flowering trees. They look amazing but do not produce fruit.

Well, shoot; if you just want some beautiful flowers, why not buy a peach and get the flowers *and* the fruit. Peaches do great here.

Are there any particular varieties that do best here in the valley?

There are some good suggestions in this link. However, it's past prime time for planting stone fruit. :(
