pruning red bird of paradise

Linny(Chandler, AZ)April 30, 2008

Is it ok to prune my red bird of paradise? I was going to cut it back to a stump a few months ago and didn't have the time. Now I am wondering if it is too late.

Now that they are growing, go right ahead! Just be careful to not damage the new shoots coming from the base of the plant
