Does anyone have experience with feeding banana seeds to chickens? Do they need to be crushed? What is their food value? Do chickens find them tasty?
Er..um, what do you mean banana 'seeds'? Bananas don't really produce seeds. Are you talking about the musa (banana) species, or some other plant?
Now I'm curious!
Or do bananas produce seeds? Do you mean that droopy flower thing actually produces seeds? I didn't know that, cool...
I've never heard of feeding banana seeds to chickens. If the seeds were small enoughthey would prob eat it though lol. I imagine it would have potassium in it? Not sure what all else or if it would even be good for them.
Mostly the decorative types of bananas only produce seeds. I have read that the Musella lasiocarpa(chinese yellow banana) is used for fodder for pigs in China, but I don't know if the seeds are included.
Yes, some varieties of bananas have seeds (often in abundance). Some examples are Musa velutina, Musa ornata, and Musa basjoo.
I'm still looking for some answers.
