Finally Bamboo In The Hood

iain42March 1, 2011

I've been asking questions on this forum for years. I put in a rhizome barrier at an angle. This has a monkey grass border to hide the edge of the barrier.

I went to Ewa Nelsons bamboo farm in Morrilton, AR and I dug henon, nagra, and robert young. Let me tell you that is hard work. I won't be trading my day job. The farm is for sale and has 20 yo established bamboo. Lots of pics here but they were taken last year..

As you can see I am going to eventually blot out the hood :)

Thanks for all the advice.

Keep an eye on those overhead lines, as it looks like the culms could hit them when they droop.

In your Zone, those bamboo are going to do great. Congratulations on harvesting such large specimens and not having to top them.
