Bananas in MD

weirdtrevMarch 16, 2012

Does anyone know of local suppliers of banana trees in MD? Preferably in Baltimore or Harford County. I tried online twice and after giving people money I was never sent anything. So I really want to go to a store and just pick them up. I checked the internet but I wanted to see if anyone had some personal experiences.

can't help with anything in MD. But I buy from Plant Delights nursery here in N.C. by mail order all the time and during open house events I will travel to visit thier gardens and buy plants. Never had any problem with them. All there plants are grown and tested outdoors here in zone 7b.

Here is a link that might be useful: Plant Delights nusery

Musa basjoo is a hardy die back perienial in the DC Baltimore area and is available on eBay and many nurseries in the area. You could also check HD and Lowes as they get them in later in the season.

I was just at Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville, near Annapolis. They had lots of Musa Basjoos available for 12 or 14 bucks a pop. Plants were about a foot and a half.
