Banana Fertilizer

Randy31513(Georgia 8b)April 11, 2012

I have been doing my reading but as always in things like this, recommendations for fertilizer vary dramatically. Add to that what you can find at the local stores and farm supply and you have the making for a headache.

My farm supply has centipede fertilizer that is 12-0-12 and of course the common 10-10-10. They also have a 0-0-60. i could use the 0-0-60 then mix my own with the 12-0-12 or the 10-10-10.

10-5-20 seems to be a good mix. I think if I mix one pound of 10-10-10 with one pound 12-0-12 then add a 1/4 of pound of 0-0-60 that very roughly should be 11-5-20

Hey Randy

This year Im experimenting with only using milorganite. Last year I just sprinkled some all purpose and once in a while I used miracle grow blue water.

Mike everything I read suggest having double the amount of potassium-potash as nitrogen. Something like 10-5-20.
