Taking the Musa outside

beachbum_nj(N.J. z7)May 5, 2008

I have kept my Musa Basjoo's inside all winter and they have done pretty good. They even grew some. I would like to know if it is ok to bring them out now. The forcast low for this week is 50 to 55 at night. High in the mid to upper 60"s during the day. They have been kept in side at about 60 to 65 all winter.

I have had my basjoos out for a few weeks now (they went down at lowest to about 37.F). They are fine, and growing. I would put them out (they can even take a very light frost).

I'd keep them in the shade first and move them gradually into the sun; otherwise the leaves will burn.
