I saw in a book some time back and do not have the book, it showed a bamoo which acted like a ground cover. It only got about 3' tall or so.
Was I dreaming? A little help....please.
Yes, it is true. They are in the Pleioblastus family. I have 4 different varities. They are runners. I have a few in the ground but I have a barrier to stop them from going into a certain area. The rest are in pots.
So do you have any pictures of them? I am planning on making beds for them as we have rock about 10" to 12" below the surface. I will be digging out and pouring into the rock and raising the bed.
If you search from google.com, look up "Pleioblastus Bamboo", Dwarf or Pgymy Bamboo, it will give you all kinds of photo's and information.
There is a list of bamboos shorter than 3 feet tall at the following link.
Ignore the unknown heights "U". They could be any height.
When you see a description that you like click on the "Picture" link to see photos of that species and then click on "Sources" to find where to get it.
Here is a link that might be useful: Short bamboo
Thanks Bill thats a great resource.
