i cut down some bamboo stalks from my neighbors today to use for garden stakes, and noticed that it turned my hands a neon green / yellow like color.
Is this normal?
Not normal...never seen that in ten years of working with bamboo. Maybe it was sprayed with something. Are you absolutely sure it was bamboo? Did it wash off easily?
i didn't notice it until i took a bath and my wash cloth turned yellow/green. It may be from the dirt/grim on the bamboo itself. here is the pics.
up close, grimy pic
Interesting. i've gotten a little chlorophyll on my hands from clearing out bamboo and other plants, but nothing quite like you describe. You may be right about the grime.
You didn't wear gloves at any time during the bamboo cutting, did you?
Gloves 'bleed' colour into my hands sometimes, even if worn for short periods of time.
nah I didnt wear any gloves. im going to clean the bamboo tomorrow and try to take some picks to show you an example.
Same thing happened to me with a running bamboo. It had just rained and everything was wet. Was it wet when this happened to you?
