Bamboo (Fargesia) tips got sunburned

gardenbug(8b)July 24, 2013

My bamboo is doing well except that the tips on some of them got 'fried' in the sun. I think I might have accidentally sprayed the top of the plant next to my driveway when washing my car. Should I just leave it or cut the burned tips off? It looks a little unsightly. Thanks again.

Do what you want...neither approach will help or hurt the plant. I also doubt that you caused the problem by accidentally spraying the leaves. Sometimes it just happens with bamboo and there's nothing that can be done about it.

Thank you kudzu9, I appreciate your help. I thought when I sprayed the leaves in the direct sun they must have burned. Okay, well I'll just leave them.
