Giant banana plants in Pepeekeo

My wife and I just bought 8 acres in Pepeekeo (just north of Hilo) on the Big Island in Hawaii. We had the land cleared of the 8 foot tall grass and weed trees, but decided to leave the large mat of banana. Apparently, they are Apple bananas, one of my favorites.
