First year of Mason Bee's

minkies(8)March 13, 2014

Hi all, new here, this is my first year of putting out mason bees.
Yesterday was glorious here in Vancouver so I brought them out of my fridge
And saw 1 guy had already woke up, it was amazing to see him come out of the small wooden box I bought to protect them from predators. I don't have my garden in yet ( obviously) so I hope they find enough stuff to pollinate close by. I'll post a picture of the nesting can I made ( Pinterest idea) later.

Pleased to hear of your success.

Hope you have fresh tubes out for them. That way you'll have more bees for next year.

Good job! Every household should have at least one native bee house.
