BANANAS this summer

Bottom w/ pups. I have already seperated 3 other pups approx. 4-6' in height.

Looking up the trunk.

Beautiful. What type of banana is it? In Zone 8 you won't have to dig them up will you? That is just an impressive stalk.

Musa Orinoco im pretty sure because i have another which flowered and had bananas. ( I will post pics. soon ) I know many people around here who leave them over winter and they will die back to the bulb then shoot up almost a foot a week in late feb. early march. I on the other hand dont like to see them die... so I dig them up leave the upper leaves and pot them and have them as house plants for the 4 approx winter months. Thank you they and I love the summer. -Justin
