Hi,Danny,

Actually, I don't know if nicking the basal plate would work or not, it just might! If you wanted to try it on another bulb that you didn't mind hurting if it didn't work, go ahead..

I do know that when I have a bulb that has been damaged by the Narcissus Bulb Fly..damaged.. but not totally destroyed, it very often forms bulblets on the basal plate as long as the roots are still healthy and intact..you might just take a chunk out of one side of the plate, dust with captan or whatever you guys use over there and give it a try...of course you could always try cuttage, but I'm sure you wouldn't have the heart to cut a prized bulb into pieces, I know I wouldn't...

Good luck with your moving, I can't imagine having to dig up all those bulbs and keep the labels straight and then having to replant all of them...Better you than me!!

Hi Guys,

Well, That does sound interesting doesn't it? Maybe Kristi will try it on one of her "Gordies" and I should try it on my "Tinkerbell" but I think I'd like to see someone do it and document it with pictures for the rest of us who might be "chickens"...anyone??
