Will honey bees swarm 2 days in a row? I bought a nuke last year and fed the bees during the summer and early this spring. I only have the 1 hive. It has been a mild winter. March 27th on a very cold and windy day, I found a swarm on the corner of my front porch. They were so cold they could hardly fly or crawl. I got them in a hive, put a lamp under a blanket and next day they were in pretty good shape.
Next day I found a swarm in a small cedar tree about 50 feet away. It was warmer and I put them in a hive with no problem.
I was surprised that they swarmed and that they swarmed that early. There was plenty of room in the hive with 3 frames that had little honey and no brood.

I live in west Anaheim, CA, a heavily residential area. There are a lot of flowering bushes in my backyard, so I have bees every year.
Last year, a swarm settled on a bush; it was gone the next day. Does this mean there is a hive nearby?

Maybe..maybe not, one of your neighbors or from several miles away.
They were looking for a new home,..couldn't find it so they moved on.

>>Will honey bees swarm 2 days in a row?Yes, usually, the first swarm is the largest, then..called after swarms, smaller with virgin queen.

So now you have 3 hives!
