Bamboo barrier/deflection question

Im curious if using Visqueen as a replacement of Deep Root bamboo barriers is a good idea? This stuff is nearly the same thickness at about half the cost. What do you think? I could always overlap it for more thickness.

I wouldn't'd have as much luck as if you used tissue paper. I've seen rhizomes go through 60 mil bamboo barrier and 45 mil pond liner.
