Planting Calendars

tomatofreak(Z9 Phx USA)September 13, 2012

I just found this site while looking for something else entirely. It occurred to me that the question of when to plant what comes up over and over again and it might be helpful to have a thread just for calendars.

Here's the Urban Farm (now Roots Phoenix, btw) calendar that a few of us have noted in answer to WTPW.

This is one pagancat posted from the Desert Botanical Garden. As you might expect, it focuses on xeriscape plants.

Wow, just found this one; it's on Brad Lancaster's rainwater harvesting site. This one is for Tucson. It's a great site for many other things, too.

This one's the Maricopa County Extension Service vegetable planting guide. Lots more info than just WTPW.

And another for low elevation gardening. This one is a compilation of a lot of different info. In addition to what to plant, there's a good deal of how to's.

This is my own personal calender: October: Plant everything that can tolerate light frosts, March: Plant everything that cannot tolerate a frost. Simple, clean, and easy to understand!

LOL, bucks - has it been very successful for you? I'll admit that my calendar is quite similar.

Here's another Maricopa co. extension cal, has a few other options and many monthly tips.
