What to do with Begonia babies

margie5(z5 NY)January 12, 2013

I have a Rex begonia (Super Curl) that I took some leaf cuttings from for the first time (thanks to the great instructions from this forum). The little plants are finally visible, but I'm wondering whether I should keep them under plastic for awhile until they are larger or remove the plastic. I know these guys don't like to get too wet, but like humidity so....not sure what's best. They are under fluorescent lights in the basement at the moment with my other baby plants.

I thought of one other question. I put the begonia leaf cuttings in 1:1 peat moss/perlite. Do the baby plants need to go into some other kind of soil mix at some point. Sorry- I'm a newbie with begonias...

Keep them under plastic, they do need the humidity. The mix sounds fine.
