what else will grow in a peat and sand bog with my sarracenias?
Sphagnum moss, cranberries, leatherleaf, bog rosemary, round-leaved sundew, wild calla, three-way sedge, to name a few. You could also put sub-tropicals and tropicals like venus flytrap in the bog for the summer .

I definitly would not refer to venus fly traps as tropical or sub-tropical. They are temperate plants.
Venus flytrap is native to NC/SC, which lies within the Humid Subtropical Zone of the southeastern US. Although it normally goes dormant in the winter, it would not survive winter outdoors in Michigan.
i decided on a coffee cups elephant ear, corkscrew rush and mini cattails
