strawberry papaya trees

im doing a project for school & need some help! does anyone know why ... if you cut the top of a strawberry papaya tree off, the color changes to orange? PLEASE HELP ASAP! :) mahalo & aloha!

Can you tell me/us more about exactly what you mean? Are you saying that when the tree is topped that the skin of the existing fruits below that point turn orange? If I'm understanding you correctly, it sounds like you are saying that pruning the tree makes the fruit ripen more quickly. Is that what you mean?

Strawberry is a nickname for the Sunrise strain of papaya. If you're looking for info, you might include that name in Google searches.
