Do any of you have any experiences with small electric garden tillers specifically the Troy-Built or the B&D or any other? My T-B small gas tiller bit the dust and I'm looking into electric instead.

unless you have really loose or sandy soil, I would never get one. Too light weight

I bought a reconditioned electric Troy Built cultivator at HD last year and I love it. Keep in mind that my soil has been worked for several years - by rented rototiller the first year and by hand after that.

Frankly I got tired of adding mulch each year and digging it in by hand. This little cultivator is perfect and it will dig down to 12 inches if you let it. It's light enough for me to lift and maneuver and can fits into the small areas of the garden.
