Are you able to ID this cactus pad?

Junglajungle(9b Arizona)October 22, 2013

Hi! I took this pad from a prickly pear cactus by grandmas house, I want to plant it for consumption. The pad is soft with no thorns like the ones I have seen before. The reason to know its name is to be sure it can be use for consumption. Thank you so much for your help.

Looks like Opuntia ficus-indica. If watered they grow fast and large. Bon appétit.

Thank you! JonCongaroo. I'm going to plant it this week. I can't wait to use some pads to make scrambled eggs.
