Begonia care- newbie

edec90June 23, 2014

Hi,

I'm pretty new to begonia care and have had my plant since February. It didn't come with any instructions for how to care for it so I just kind of went with the flow and watered it whenever the topsoil was dry but springy.

Now that the blooms have stopped almost completely and I am guessing its going to sleep for the summer, I am hoping to find out what I should do for it now along with any other helpful tips that you might have for me. (I'm not quite sure what pinching means either, so bear with me.)

Please and thank you.

Also, I'm planning on moving it over the the green pot from its black flimsy pot that it came in, advice?

I cannot believe you got no response since June. Your plant is making seeds, its primary goal. When it makes seed it stops blooming. To keep it blooming all summer you need to prevent it from making seeds. Pinch off all blooms as soon as they fade. Al
